Over one year ago, the Gamma-Xi House Corporation and Alumni Association Board, in partnership with Denison University, created the Kappa Sigma at Denison University Endowed Scholarship Fund. This is a special fund that provides grants to members of the Gamma-Xi Chapter who receive financial aid from Denison and who are deemed exceptional in their contributions to the chapter, exemplified by the four pillars of Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service.
The current fund is part of the overall Denison Endowment fund and is invested and managed by Denison, although it is exclusively used for Kappa Sigma students. As part of the DU fund, donations are tax deductible.
Yearly earnings are used to provide grants to qualifying members. Last year, $6,800 was given in awards to four students. The fund is now up to approximately $200,000 and will provide over $13,000 in awards this year.
The board encourages and invites all alumni and friends to contribute to this worthy effort. Make your check out to Denison University and write a note on the check or attach an earmark indicating that the donation is for The Kappa Sigma at Denison University Endowed Scholarship Fund. It’s that simple.
You will receive a special thank you from Dick Hotaling ’54 in response to your contribution.
You can mail your check as a response to a Denison University fundraising request or send it separately to the address below:
