Your fellow brothers have been up to a lot in the last few years. Thanks to Alan Angel ’60 and Leigh Coen ’73 for sharing their updates.
Alan Angell: Alan and his wife Margaret Cleland Angell, of the Phi Phi sorority at Denison will be celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary in July. Since graduation in 1960, they have lived in Long Beach, CA, Farmington, MI, and Estero, FL. Al graduated from Denison with a degree in geology. Then he went on to serve as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, spent 5 years with IBM as a systems analyst and operations manager, worked as an executive in a marketing and database company, became a founder and principal in a direct marketing company, and then worked as a financial advisor in a major financial services organization. Al’s passions have been the breeding and showing of Arabian Show horses, years of USTA tennis competition, golfing, wonderful traveling, boating, and participation in Episcopal Churches in all the cities he and Margi have lived in. Al and his brothers of Kappa Sigma have loved their fraternity days at Denison and continue to be active with each other and the alumni of the university.
Leigh Coen: Leigh retired last year, after 37 years with IBM in Washington, D.C. He is still married to his college sweetheart, Barb “BJ” Novak, who he says was serenaded by the brothers after he was thrown into the pond behind the house. Leigh said, “I am distressed by the decline of Greek life in recent years, but glad that Gamma Xi is back and healthy. I still cherish my three years living in the lodge. Kudos to Dave for his steadfast work for Gamma Xi through many, many years.”
