It has been an eventful time for the Gamma Xi Chapter of Kappa Sigma. In late February, the men assembled a basketball team for the Delta Delta Delta fundraiser “Dunkin Deltas,” which benefited St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Kappa Sigma had teams in both the competitive and recreational finals of the event. The recreational team, led by a heroic effort from Brother and Grand Master of Ceremonies Drew Danuser, took home the title. The competitive team came up just short, losing a nail-biter in the finals. Despite the results, the event was a huge success, and thousands of dollars were raised for Cancer Research with the help of the gentleman of Gamma Xi.
At the Fraternity and Sorority Leadership Award Ceremony, Brother Ben Barrows was honored with the award of Outstanding Greek Leader. Barrows is the treasurer of Gamma Xi, and has served his position with diligence and organization. We are all excited and proud of his work.
Congratulations are also extended to Brothers Ryan Flemming, PJ Fallon, Conrad Wuorinen, Timmy Smith and Kevin Brinegar, who won the NCAA swimming championship. PJ Fallon, the ex-Grand Master of Gamma-Xi, came out of retirement to take the title his senior year. This is a fantastic accomplishment for these five men, and they represent the fraternity in their hard work and success both through their work for their fraternity and their school.
