We take this opportunity to introduce you to our new chapter president, PJ Fallon ’16. A communications and economics major from Marblehead, Mass., PJ has formerly held ritual chair, alumni relations and assistant grand treasurer officer positions. If you are nice to him, he just might sing you a few bars from one of the songs from Disney’s Frozen.
What does the Grand Master responsibility mean to you?
As Grand Master, the responsibility represents maintaining and building upon the Four Kappa Sigma Pillars: Fellowship – building upon the strong bond we already hold; Leadership – striving to be the best men on campus in the classroom, athletics, morally, socially, everything; Scholarship – maintaining a focus of academics, and pursuing the highest level of education in and out of the classroom; and Service – working to build a better community through direct and positive action. Simply put, integrity describes the responsibility of the grand master and Kappa Sigma as a whole. For me, serving as grand master allows me not only a chance to lead, but also a chance to grow and learn. With a great EC and an amazing group of brothers at Denison, I look forward to having the opportunity to grow our chapter to be the best group of young men.
What challenges and opportunities does the chapter have?
Our largest opportunity comes from our biggest challenge. Recently, our chapter has, unfortunately, not been held in the best regards with Denison administration or Kappa Sigma HQ. So, naturally, we are under the microscope from each respective organization. But, from every disappointment, we are given the chance learn, grow and better ourselves. Now is the time to rebuild our image, building upon the foundations of brothers who came before us. What’s fun, though, is that we are able to add our own unique twist on the future of our chapter. I’m excited to see what our chapter will accomplish within the next year. Ideas are thrown out at every chapter meeting, so we finally have the chance to utilize and maximize our potential.
What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
One thing most people do not know about me … I enjoy singing along to the movie Frozen.
